I'a. The degrees of freedom is 6
c. 40.06 is the Chi squared value d. No because the chi squared value is considered significant if one looks at the chart which means that it is more likely than not, not just based off of a coincidence. e. All of the green worms were subjected to positive selection pressure because their green color blended in with the grassy environment. The other brighter colors were subjected to negative selection pressure because their colors stood out and made it more likely for them to get picked off. f. The ones that are subjected to negative selection are more likely to have their population thinned in order for them to adapt to the changing environment quicker. The ones with positive selection are less likely to adapt because they are already adapted for their environment. g. Birds tend to either hunt at night or early in the morning, which would make the darker colors less susceptible to getting picked off from a distance by birds. Predatory birds have good vision so the ability of them to see certain worms actually makes a big difference. h. The grounds in which we have the woolly worms is either brown or green so all of the worms that are similar to those colors have a higher chance of surviving compared to the other, brighter colors. In 10 years I'm sure the population of worms will have shifted more to one of those of green and brown colors.
